I found myself singing to King For A Day last night. I've realised how much I've missed Nimrod. I've been too hooked on 21st CB.

It would be interesting to have a discussion about what all the songs means to you guys from every album... I can't answer this now, but I'll do it later. Please tell me what every song from Nimrod means to you!

I was totally serious. But I won't have the time to say anything now, it seems I'll be going away for a few days.

I'm not gonna pick apart every song, because i wouldn't know where to start. The album as a whole has so many good memories for me. It was the first Green Day album I got (and the first I stole rescued from ex boyfriends! teehee) way back in autumn 1997 when I was about 13. It reminds me of friends I rarely see anymore and the good times we had, teachers that i hated, and dancing like a loon. Most of all and perhaps most importantly, It encouraged me to try different genres of music and different bands to the pop crap i was listening to at the time. I don't want to know what I'd be listening to if i hadn't heard heard Nimrod.

I remember a few years ago when it was really late at night, and my dad walked in with a early birthday present, it was Nimrod and I listened to it all the way though like, 3 times. I love having those memories when you first listen to a Green Day album. A whole albums worth of great songs.

You shouldn't really call pop crap, cuz it isn't. There are many good pop songs and I agree with you Green Day beats it all. Pinhead beats it all. But the other stuff isn't shit just cuz u don't listen to it. Pop is a what I call pre-stage for all people til they realize there's better music Smile

Hmm, I would say "Take Back" not really a Green Day song if you ask me. I like it, but I like it the least on this album.

I'd take 'Last Ride In' off Nimrod, I know it's an Instrumental but it just repeats everything over and over again

Other than that I love Nimrod, one of my favourite albums, I always though of it being underated, but now I realised the true Green Day fans love it.

I really like Last Ride in, it's very special, and I get a good feeling from it. Even though it's just instrumental. And no, Nimrod isn't underrated, it's almost every Green Day fan's favorite album (except for me) Smile

I'm not calling all pop crap, just the stuff i was listening to back then. It was literally boybands and cheesy dance music. Anyone else remember 5ive, Steps and 911?! *cringe*
On the other hand, I really like Nsync, they made good quality pop songs, and Tesseh and I were having a conversation only yesterday about T.a.T.u having good songs. There is good pop music out there, i just object to the disposable, cheap and nasty pop music.
I guess I kinda feel I missed out by not discovering good music sooner. Smile

I agree, it's kind of old fashioned and plain compared with Dookie and Insomniac, but I think that's what I like about it. I can't imagine anything else being the cover, it's just an iconic image.

Dookie and Insomniac had such special covers. And I really like 1039 smooth and Kerplunk too.
